Apple Tree Dental

As Minnesota’s largest Critical Access Dental Provider, Apple Tree Dental (Apple Tree) works to overcome barriers to oral health by delivering education, prevention, and restorative dental services to vulnerable populations as well as providing leadership and innovation to transform the health care system.

Apple Tree operates eight Centers for Dental Health (each, a Center) in Minnesota. In addition, Apple Tree operates year-round On-Site Care Programs through partnerships with 145 Head Start centers, schools, group homes, senior assisted living programs, and long-term care facilities. Apple Tree’s specially trained dentists and multilingual staff provide preventive care and treatment to more than 35,500 patients each year.

Venn’s PRI will help Apple Tree grow its mission and expand dental services to more patients in the Twin Cities by acquiring ADT Dental in Uptown Minneapolis and ADT Dental’s nonprofit affiliate, Ready, Set, Smile. Working with Venn, Apple Tree hopes to pioneer a new way of getting below-market capital to Minnesota’s nonprofit Critical Access Dental Providers to help expand clinics, build new clinics, recruit dental staff and increase services to 1.2 million diverse, underserved people who are enrolled in Minnesota Health Care Programs statewide.
