A1 Tree and Stump Removal, LLC

Founded in 2023 by Alex Gebru, A1 Tree and Stump Removal is a Bloomington, Minnesota-based tree care company serving residential and commercial customers throughout the Twin Cities. As a first-generation American who grew up in a low-income household, Alex understands the challenges many aspiring business owners face in accessing capital and creating economic opportunity. He has built A1 with a focus on quality service, safety, professionalism, and workforce development.

Venn's PRI is supporting A1's expansion through the addition of a grapple truck operation. This investment will improve efficiency, reduce outsourcing costs, and position the company to pursue larger municipal and commercial contracts. The expansion is expected to increase capacity, strengthen profitability, and create new employment opportunities as the business grows.

A1 works with local nonprofits, community organizations, and public agencies to recruit and develop employees, helping individuals build skills and long-term careers in the skilled trades. As the company expands, it plans to continue creating opportunities for people who have traditionally faced barriers to employment.

The primary purpose of Venn's investment is to relieve economic distress of low-income and disadvantaged individuals, combat community deterioration, and eliminate barriers to accessing capital and employment opportunities. Through this investment, A1 is expanding its operations while creating new pathways to stable employment and economic mobility in the Twin Cities.
